United Studios of Self Defense – Costa Mesa (USSD – Costa Mesa) celebrated their grand opening on Sunday, April 28, 2013. They selected Miracles for Kids, a Tustin-based nonprofit organization as the charitable recipient of the event.
The event featured live, action-packed karate demonstrations with an anti-bullying focus, free martial arts lessons and a special inspirational talk on anti-bullying by retired police detective, Devin Guzman. The day was also filled with family entertainment that included a giant bounce house, door prizes, balloon animal art, face painting, amazing program deals and more. This event also raised community awareness and funds for the local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Miracles for Kids, and their work to improve the lives of children battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Miracles for Kids President, Autumn Strier, was proud to be a part of this event, stating “Miracles for Kids is honored to be chosen as the charitable recipient of this event. We support the their anti-bullying campaign because we believe it helps kids from all walks of life, but also ones suffering from life-threatening illnesses, like the ones we serve. Thank you to United Studios of Self Defense-Costa Mesa for allowing us to be a part of your Grand Opening Event.”[facebook] Tweet
